Whether we are college students or not, there are times in life when very serious and extremely challenging events happen to us. These types of events or situations are often referred to as ‘trauma’. This weekly workshop will help students: (1) understand what happens to us (physically and psychologically) during traumatic experiences; (2) understand the difference between typical or “normal” versus more concerning reactions to traumatic experiences; (3) understand what are some of the factors that promote recovery and foster resilience; and (4) learn specific strategies to manage the distress associated with recovering from traumatic or extremely stressful situations.
IMPORTANT: Please note attendees will not be asked to share/discuss any details of traumatic experience(s). While attendees are welcome (and encouraged) to ask questions, this workshop is not interactive and is designed to be educational in nature.
