Ohio Union Giving Opportunities

Couples Railing Panels: The Ohio Union is special for many couples who met in the building. Countless alumni met their significant other, went on a date, or even proposed within the walls of the Ohio Union! To tell these special stories, custom railing panels will be displayed on the second floor of the new Ohio Union. These double-faced cast aluminum panels with Buckeye motif will be inscribed with each couple’s names. The panels will be attached to the railing system surrounding the Great Hall located outside large meeting spaces such as the Grand Ballroom. Many couples have already contributed to this special project, and panels are still available with a $2,500 donation.

Cartoon Room: This large meeting room on the third floor (capable of dividing into two smaller rooms) will feature some of the published works and tell the stories of famous cartoonists from Ohio State including Milton Caniff, James Thurber, Jeff Smith (Bone), and Gardner Rea (New Yorker). The room is 2900 square feet and capable of holding 280 people.

Senate Chamber:  This tiered-meeting room will accommodate governance organization meetings and gatherings, with microphones and voting capability at each seat.  Groups like the Undergraduate Student Government, Council of Graduate Students, Inter-Professional Council and the Fraternity and Sorority Councils will utilize this space for weekly meetings.  The room is open to all types of organizations, and will host many great debates as well as the creation of campus policies.

Round Meeting Room: Located on the third floor, this meeting room has been designed to encourage community dialogue and debate. The room’s tiered levels allow guests to view one another in an informal setting. Guests can sit on the carpeted levels or the room can be set with chairs. A sky-light adds natural light to the room at its center.
