Ohio Union Event Requests

We are excited to host your event at the Ohio Union! It’s easy to find the right space for your needs with 34 unique event and meeting spaces that range in size to be perfect for small gatherings or large enough to accommodate up to 2,000 people. Most of our rooms are flexible and can be set up in banquet, theater, or classroom style to best suit your needs. We have a wonderful on-site caterer and events team that strive to provide you with an extraordinary experience.

Reservations for events and meetings in the Ohio Union can be made in several ways:

  • Online: You can reserve space online using the Virtual Scheduling System.
     
    Please note - the Virtual Scheduling System does not allow you to book our two largest event spaces: Archie M. Griffin Grand Ballroom (East & West) and Performance Hall/Potter Plaza. If you would like to reserve these spaces, email us at sl-ohiounionevents@osu.edu or call us at (614) 292-5200 to speak with a member of our Sales and Events Team.

  • In Person: Visit the Ohio Union Event Services Front Desk, located in the Ohio Union Administrative Suite, during our office hours.

Outdoor Space
To request outdoor space, use the Buckeye Event Network (BEN) at www.ben.osu.edu. For help using BEN, view the BEN user guide.

Before reserving space, you may want to view our event spaces or look over the Ohio Union floor plan and capacity chart.

Student Organization Meeting Space
The first day to request space in the Ohio Union for recurring meetings for student organizations is as follows:
For Summer Term: January 15
For Fall Semester: May 15
For Spring Semester: September 15

Student organizations may now request Summer Semester meeting space in the Ohio Union. Student organizations may request Fall Semester meeting space in the Ohio Union starting Monday May 15, 2017 at 8:00 a.m.  Meeting spaces can be booked online (our preferred method), in person, or by phone. Students can request an online user account at https://emsweb.studentaffairs.ohio-state.edu/EMSWebApp. Students must be listed on the organization's roster, and submit a request as a web user, at least two weeks prior to the first date for reservation requests (see above), in order for the web user to be processed in time to request space.

Event Staff
The Ohio Union’s own event planning team is ready to assist you in planning your event. From food, to music, entertainment, parking, and more, the event planning coordinators strive to make every event held at the Union outstanding. Furthermore, our event production and student staff will be available the day of the event to address any last minute needs or final details. We look forward to seeing you and your guests in our building!
