5 Months to Go!
The countdown begins as the opening of the new Ohio Union nears in Spring 2010! As the exterior of the building is nearly complete with its brick façade, excitement is mounting for what will be inside. Details continue to be discussed, from the perfect chair for our ballrooms to selecting menu items from one of the dining locations inside the new building!
This website offers a glimpse of the process of building the new Ohio Union. You can watch the building progress via our live webcams, view still photos of the building process, and explore the floor plans and artist renderings of our exciting meeting spaces.

Fun Facts!!
- Last year, the Ohio Union advised and provided resources to over 950 registered student organizations.
- Over 60 student organization offices will be housed in the new building. There will also be more than 60 storage lockers for additional student organizations.
- The Ohio Union provides over 26 different colors of paper for student organizations to use-the average box of crayons do not contain that many different colors!
Room Highlight: Student Lounge:
Take a break, relax, and kick back in the Student Lounge, located in the Center for Student Leadership and Service on the second floor. This lounge is open to all students. A fireplace, rocking chairs, and a brick wall, featuring personalized bricks sponsored by former student leaders, make this space a great place to hang out. A 30-inch tall hand-carved, wooden sculpture of a deer will be mounted on the fireplace mantle, accompanied by a plaque with the history and origins of the term “Buckeye." Custom wooden chairs engraved with Ohio State’s alma mater, Carmen Ohio, will be available for more seating options!
