Want to Get Involved with the yearbook?

The Makio is an amazing organization to get involved with and we're always looking for dedicated people to get involved with us. It is both a student organization, but it is also a business. The Makio is entirely ran by students, with the intent to sell and produce a book that people will buy, helping each student carry on their memories of Ohio State. It is a great way to get to know many people while getting real world experience in photography, writing, graphic design, layout design, marketing and business.

The book is comprised of five different sections:

 - Production--Designs and Produces the book

 - Photography--Takes all photos for the book

 - Copy--Writes short articles for each spread

 - Marketing--Finds creative ways to market the book across campus and spreads the word about Makio on campus

How It Works

The production, photography and marketing staffs each have weekly meetings to update each other and assign new materials. Copy meets every 2-3 weeks, but can be done by email.
If your schedule is busy and unable to attend meetings that doesn't mean you can't be involved. Makio makes every effort to work with your schedule.

Not Just a Business

While, the staff does take Makio very seriously it is not all we do. We also try to get the whole staff together for a meeting or outing. The Makio is a group of friends.

This is an amazing way to get involved at Ohio State and build your portfolio. Any work you do would be a great addition to your portfolio and Makio would love to have you involved. There is no experience needed :) We accept new staff year round and every staff can always use additional staff participation. For information on how to join the staff at any time throughout the school year, please contact osuyearbook@gmail.com.
