Volunteer Opportunities

As an alumni of the Ohio Union, there are numerous ways to stay involved by volunteering.

  • Alumni Societies: Volunteers are needed for the various events and programs of the Ohio Union Alumni Societies as well as leadership positions for the Society Board of Governors.

  • Buck-I-Serv (Alternative Breaks Program): Buck-I-Serv allows students to travel nationally and internationally to conduct community service project during spring, summer, and winter breaks. Alumni can assist by hosting a dinner or other social event in their city where students may be performing community service.

  • Center for Student Leadership and Service: Ohio Union alumni can support and volunteer with the many student leadership programs and initiatives sponsored by the Ohio Union.  Opportunities include mentoring and advising, promoting and supporting under-developed programs, networking with students, and much more.

  • Major Campus Events:  The Ohio Union is famous for hosting large scale events such as Homecoming and Beat Michigan Week. Alumni can assist with promoting and volunteering at these events to help make them a success!

  • Ohio Union Council: The Ohio Union Council meets monthly to discuss a wide range of topics that affect the Ohio Union and the student body.  Alumni and parent positions are available when terms expire.

  • Fraternity and Sorority Life:  The Office of Student Life provides opportunities for faculty and staff who are members of fraternities and sororities to stay connected by advising undergraduate chapters, volunteering, and participating in social events with other alumni. All faculty and staff members who are sorority and fraternity alumni from any campus or city-wide chapter are welcome to partner with the Ohio Union. Please contact Sharrell Hassell-Goodman at hassell.12@osu.edu  to learn how you can become involved as Greek alumnus.
