Student Leadership Advocates

The Student Leadership Advocates are a group of Ohio State student leaders who work together to positively impact and empower student life at Ohio State and our surrounding community.  By facilitating workshops and retreats, this team aims to develop and enrich student organizations.  SLA strives to encourage lasting change that enables student leaders to reach their full potential at a personal, organizational, and community level.

Student Leadership Advocates can work with your student group on your next meeting, educational workshop, or retreat plans.  These student facilitators are trained in a variety of topics and activities to specifically build leadership and teamwork among groups.

Over the past year, SLA has worked with groups including the Ohio Union Activities Board, Arts and Sciences Diversity Services Office, Alpha Phi sorority, BHN Hall Council, Theme Park Engineering Group, BuckeyeThon, Rock The Block, and the Fisher Dean's Leadership Conference.

You can request SLA facilitators through the Center's Workshop and Retreat Network request form.  Our staff will select a facilitator based on your needs, and connect you with that person to discuss details of your meeting, workshop, retreat, or other activity.

Applications are available here for the 2009-2010 Student Leadership Advocates.  All applicants should also plan to attend an information session, on either Wednesday 10/28 at 6pm in Scott Labs 0056, or Sunday, 11/1 at 3pm in Ohio Union Meeting Room 1.  Applications are due by Friday, November 6 at 5pm.  For more information about the application process, please contact Andy DeLong.
