Site Leader General Information
MLK Day of Service is an annual day of community service projects in honor of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each year, nearly 700 OSU volunteers travel to a variety of agencies in the Greater Columbus area for a morning of community service. Site leaders are an integral part of the success of the event!
The theme of MLK Day of Service is “Make It a Day ON, Not a Day OFF.” This is to emphasize the importance of volunteering every day of the year…even on a holiday. Consider using your “day off” to make a positive difference in our community!
Site Leader Responsibilities
Site leaders are expected to:
· Attend a training session
· Lead reflection within that small group following the service project
· Serve as a positive representative of The Ohio State University
Site leaders will receive:
· An MLK Day of Service long sleeve t-shirt
· Free breakfast & lunch
· An amazing opportunity to positively impact our community and fellow students
· Experience with facilitating group service projects at a site, or community agency in Columbus
Application must be received by Friday, December 4th at 5pm
